On Friday, August 21, 2015, at 1037 am., Canton Police Officers were dispatched to the Anytime Fitness located at 3753 Marietta Highway in reference to the report of a suspicious male possible taking pictures or video of a female as she used the tanning bed. As Officers responded, the caller advised the 911 Operator the suspect was trying to leave in his vehicle but it would not start. A Police Sergeant arrived on scene and made contact with all parties involved in the incident. After speaking with the reported victim, a witness and the alleged suspect in the case, Detectives were called to the scene. Detectives collected evidence and escorted the suspect, a Mr. Giovanni Anibel Calleja age: 25 of Woodstock, Ga., to the Police Department for questioning.
After questioning Mr. Calleja, he was arrested and charged with the felony crime of Eavesdropping. Detectives have been able to establish that Mr. Calleja has committed similar acts numerous times over the past year. This is an active and ongoing investigation as Detectives are currently working to find out exactly how many videos were taken of other victims during this timeframe.
