Canton Police Explorers Place at Competition

The Canton Police Explorers competed in law enforcement-related activities at Winterfest, an annual competition held in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

The competition, held Feb. 10-11th, included over 85 law enforcement agencies from 12 states. Over 3,000 participants ranging from ages 14 yrs. to 21 yrs. old took part in the event.  There are several types of Explorer Posts, from police, to fire and emergency services, to veterinary, and finally to legal agencies that all take part in competitions that are designed to test their skills and knowledge on subjects pertaining to the organizations they represent.

The Canton Police Explorers received a fourth-place finish in Officer Down, seventh-place in Robbery in Progress and placed tenth in Unknown Trouble.
 

“We are so proud of how well our Explorers competed and the effort they put into training for the competition.  Our Explorers were very professional and honored the values of our agency and city,” said Canton Police Public Information Officer, Pacer Cordry.
